BTT: Signatures

Do signed copies excite you? Tempt you? Delight you? Or does it not matter to you?

Are you kidding me? Of course it matters! My books become more "valuable" if I have them signed by the authors. Heck, when I browse online for books, it's just staggering how much signed books cost and how people are willing to fork over their entire wallet just to get their hands on a copy *coughneilgaimanbookscough*.

Just think about it: when these authors pass on, their works become a collector's item, sorta like action figures and hard-to-find comics that tend to cost an an arm and leg. And mind you, these not even signed.

Now it made me regret why David Eddings had to pass on when I haven't even gotten my books signed by him.

  1. Oh, please! Don't remind me of my signed copy of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" which I unwittingly lost somewhere in Davao City. Aaaaaargh!

  2. LOL. I now have five Neil Gaiman books signed, and all with my name bwahahaha. Expensive? Not so much since it wasn't special edition or anything, but I don't think I'll go through that again.

  3. Lorna: You LOST the book? *facepalm*

    Kat: Buti ka pa! Sadly, I haven't read Gaiman books yet, so hindi pa ako makasabay sa fandom. XD

  4. Yung book ni Lorna na ilang oras ko din ipinila hehe. Tsk. Truthfully, I've only read a handful of his works, mostly the ones that are "geared for kids". I haven't really read his older and longer works. I love the guy more, actually hehe. Try reading Coraline for starters.

  5. This is not Gaiman related but one of my signed graphic novels was destroyed by the flood of Ondoy. I can't complain though, a lot of people have it worse. But yeah, sometimes I wish I just sold it to someone else.

    @Kat: I looooove Coraline!
