My life in 2010

Wow. I can’t believe another year has ended. Everything feels so surreal as if the entire 365 days has just whizzed by. 2010 may not be too spectacular, but I consider myself to be blessed ten times over because I’m still in one piece and my loved ones are still with me.

I’ve been trying to remember what were some of the memorable stuff that happened to me this year (it’s not that much, so it’s not going to be a long list); I’d like to be grateful for a lot things, and you know it’s always a good thing to look back and be thankful and hope for good things to come. So here’s the list in no particular order:

Blogging
I can’t believe that I’ve more or less kept this blog alive despite my procrastinating ways and my busy schedule (feeling sosyal?). I keep on saying that blogging these days is such a chore, unlike before when I can write 1-2 posts in a day. It’s just great to know that this blog will be turning a year old in April. I hope I can keep it up.

Roadtrip
I went to Candelaria, Zambales with Kat, Fristine and Lorna on a much-needed R&R. It really feels great to travel with friends and just let loose. I hope I can travel again next year...in Batanes, perhaps?

Writing
There’s a lot that’s happened to me writing-wise. I wrote two novellas that are due to be published next year (and got paid for it, too), joined JulNoWriMo (but didn’t win), skipped NaNoWriMo (had to suffer from withdrawal symptoms after), and met new writer-friends.

Postcrossing
I got into postcard sending/collecting, thanks to Lorna. The hobby may be a bit draining on the wallet, but it’s worthwhile to find small surprises in my mail once in a while.

New friends
Aside from meeting the writers from my publisher, I also met great friends this year, starting off with Fristine, who I initially got to know via Plurk. Then there was Den and Kim. It’s funny how I’ve only known these people for a short while, yet I feel as if I’m already very close to them.

Human Heart Nature
I found out about these awesome and affordable organic products through Fris and Lorna, and I’m just amazed at how my life changed. I became more aware of the stuff that I put on my body and I grew conscious about being more environment-friendly. Those close to me know how much of a cheapskate I am, but I surely didn’t mind spending a few bucks for great products that also provides livelihood for other people.

Fris’s Wedding
This event goes down in my book for the most memorable happening ever. Words can’t even begin to describe how epic this wedding was, and it wasn’t even the grandiose/flamboyant type of weddings that I’ve attended.

Grabbed from Kat
Darren Criss
The supermegafoxyawesomehot Harry Freakin’ Potter visited Manila for two days of fun and music. I can’t recall the last time I was flabbergasted over some celebrity, and I was really glad I took the effort to see him despite not being able to meet and greet him personally. It’s great to know that most of the people who came to see him were more Starkid fans than Glee. I feel several times proud that we first got to know Darren as the “Jesse McCartney douche” before he even got to become Blaine the gay dude.  What a perfect way to cap off the year.

I'm already excited on what 2011 has in store for me. Here's to a fun and totally awesome New Year for all of us!
