Since I had a Kindle, I rarely bought physical books (except for those written by Filipino authors) due to storage reasons. In as much as I love holding and reading hard copies of books, the Kindle has helped me discover more fun reads, not to mention that I can store hundreds in just one device. But all practicality reasons flew out the window when National Book Store announced a massive sale in all its branches.
So what's an avid reader supposed to do? Hoard books, of course!
I went to about three NBS branches (Congressional, Trinoma, and SM North), and I scored great contemporary romance books and a massive English-Pilipino dictionary to boot. I spent hours at the 70%-off pile, and some of the stuff I got were only around P99. The cheapest book I got was a locally published chick lit at P25!
I had a gift certificate stashed somewhere and I'm glad I managed to control the urge not to use it back then. I also had P110 Laking National points in my NBS card, which I also put to good use. Overall, I spent about P500+ net. I'd say it's not a bad bargain.
The sale runs until September 8, so go grab your bargain books now!
The next thing to worry about is where to store all these new stuff. :)
My loot thus far. |
Wow! Ang saya naman! I'm so intrigued sa "P.S. I Love You". Maganda ba talaga?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of buying Kindle na rin. *crosses fingers*
Hindi ko pa nababasa, mare. Haha! Dami kong nabiling libro last month; lalo tuloy humaba yung to-read list ko. XD
ReplyDeleteGo get a Kindle na! Available na rin yung Kobo sa NBS, but I'm still a Kindle person. :)
What's Kobo naman? My gosh, isa talaga akong dinosaur. Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteKobo is an e-reader, mare. Parang Kindle. They also have their own ebook store na parang sa Amazon.
